Tim Engelland teaching a portrait class at the Indianapolis Art Center

Tim Engelland was raised in Terre Haute, Indiana.  He left that city as soon as possible and spent most of the last forty years in New York and New England.

Although primarily a landscape and portrait painter, twenty-five years ago Mr. Engelland began experimenting with relief printmaking.  It wasn't until he taught himself to sharpen the necessary gouges and knives that his interest quickened.

Mr. Engelland's work has been widely exhibited and is included in collections of the Museum Of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts and the National Library of Ireland.

In recent years, Mr. Engelland has been offering classes at the Indianapolis Art Center; he also teaches privately.

To whit: An alphabet of “no-no’s”. It was inspired by medieval chap books, early American broadsides, and artists like Holbein, Felix Vallotton, and Alex Mueller.

They are meant to be humorous and make appropriate gifts for landlords, stockbrokers, Ex-spouses, skinflints, lawyers, probation officers, debt collectors, and other friends.
