Irvington author, Paul Diebold, wrote one of the definitive books about Irvington, Greater Irvington – Architecture, People And Places On The Indianapolis Eastside.

It is available for check out at the Irvington Branch of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library; it may also be purchased at the Irvington Historical Society offices and at Bookmamas.

In addition to being a wonderful resource for both the history of Irvington and documenting examples of the many architectural styles represented here (including many historic photos), his book includes a forward by former Irvington resident, and long-time WRTV news anchor, Howard Caldwell.

Additionally, Mr. Diebold is the author of The History and Architecture of Meridian-Kessler.  This book may be purchased at Bookmamas as well..

Mr. Diebold is also a co-author of Mission Accomplished: The Missions Building; Its History And Its People. Said book is a very informative history of the former Sarah A. Davis Memorial School For Mission (a.k.a. the "Missions Building"), an Irvington landmark

Mr. Diebold is active in the Irvington Community, serving as a board member of the Irvington Historical Society (he has also served said society as an officer, including that of President).  He is also a board member of the Irvington Guild Of Artists.

Mr. Diebold holds a B.F.A. in Art History from Herron School Of Art And Design and a M.S. in Historic Preservation from Ball State University. Paul works for the Indiana Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology as a reviewer and documenter of historic buildings.
